In summer 2021, C.O.O.L lab received two new federal research grants. The first is an award from NASA (with PI Dr. Yun Li) on remote sensing of CO₂ and understand its control mechanism in the Arctic Ocean. The second is an award from NSF’s Chemical Oceanography program (with co-PI Dr. Eliot Atekwana). The project title is: "Measurements of stable carbon isotopes (δ¹³C-DIC) on board GO-SHIP cruises in the South Atlantic Ocean to enhance our ability to quantify anthropogenic CO₂ uptake rates by the ocean.
